The return of Mad Men for its sixth season has fans and fashionistas buzzing. Visionary costume/fashion designer Janie Bryant is back with the Draper powerhouse crew and we can’t wait! The season returns with the stylish cast and favorites such as: January Jones, Jon Hamm, Christina Hendricks, Meghan Draper and Elisabeth Moss. Season six, of course, will have plenty of surprises especially with the changes happening at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. As anticipation builds for the return, we’ve got a preview featuring this season’s Mad Men looks. (Spoiler Alert!) Janie’s fashion was inspired by the mod mood.
Designer favorites including Louis Vuitton, Moschino and Kate Spade were inspired by the retro looks of the 1960’s and seen on the S/S 2013 runway. With Janie’s mod inspired capsule collection for J. Crew, currently in store, we can’t help but think that we will get to see featured pieces in new episodes.
“Inspiration really starts with the script,” states Janie, in a recent interview. “Big resource of inspiration for me are old photographs, to really see how people wore their clothing and getting inspiration from real life.”
We think Janie is off to a great start. With her keen eye for vintage and 60’s fashion we look forward to the mix of mod, chic and sophisticated 60’s style, which will have us hooked for this season.
